England’s World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan has announced retirement. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed this on Tuesday as the left-handed batsman had been struggling with fitness and form problems for the past one year. British media reported widely on Monday that Morgan would announce his retirement soon and it was confirmed a day later.

In his 13-year international career, Eoin Morgan won 2 ICC titles. Under his captaincy, England made history and achieved the distinction of becoming world champions in the ODI format for the first time in 2019. Morgan was a member of the England squad that won the T20 World Cup in 2010.
