The COVID 19 vaccines, which were administered to over a billion Indians over the course of more than two years, have “multiple side-effects,” according to the government’s two top watchdogs. The shocking information was provided in an RTI response to Pune businessman Prafful Sarda by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO).

India has approved the use of six vaccines, including “Covishield” from AstraZeneca and Serum Institute of India, “Covovax” from SII, “Covaxin” from Bharat Biotech, “Sputnik V” from Dr. Reddy’s Lab, “CorBEvax” from Biological E. Ltd., and later, “ZyCov-D” for teenagers from Cadila Healthcare Ltd. (12-17 age).

In response to an RTI request made by a businessman from Pune, ICMR and CDSCO acknowledged that the Covid-19 vaccination has a number of side effects. Covishield, one of the first vaccines authorised by the Indian government, has the highest number of side effects, including the paralysis of any particular side or parts of the body.

The vaccines of three Hyderabad-based companies — the government-run Bharat Biotech Ltd.’s “Covaxin,” Dr. Reddy’s Lab imported “Sputnik V,” Biological E. Ltd.’s “CorBEvax,” and later, Cadila Healthcare Ltd., Ahmedabad’s “ZyCov-D” — have been approved by India for use only in adolescents (12-17 years old).

Covaxin exhibits mild AEFI symptoms such as pain or swelling at the injection site, headaches, fatigue, fever, body aches, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, giddiness, tremors, sweating, cold, and cough.

Chills, fever, arthralgia, myalgia, asthenia, headaches, general discomfort, pain/swelling/hyperaemia at the injection site, nausea, dyspepsia, loss of appetite, and occasionally enlarged regional lymph nodes are symptoms of Sputnik V.

According to a report by IANS, Covishield is responsible for the majority of its side effects on the jabbed population, including injection site tenderness or pain, multiple red spots or bruises beyond the injection site, persistent vomiting without cause, severe or persistent abdominal pains or headaches with or without vomiting, shortness of breath, chest pains, pain in the limbs or swelling on pressing the calf/arms, pain in the limbs or swelling on pressing, weakness/paralysis of the limb
