ADGP Surendra Kumar to receive President’s Medal on Republic Day

Surendra Kumar will be one of the 102 officials nationwide to get the esteemed recognition, as per the official list.

Surendra Kumar, the Additional Director General of Assam Police (ADGP) (Vigilance and Anti Corruption), will receive the esteemed President’s Medal for Distinguished Service on January 26 together with the Republic Day celebrations.

Surendra Kumar will be one of the 102 officials nationwide to get the esteemed recognition, as per the official list. The police have received 94 of the 102 President’s Medals for Distinguished Service (PSM), followed by the fire service with four and the civil defence and home guard service with four.

Meanwhile, out of the 667 people, up to 14 people from Assam will be awarded the “Medal for Meritorious Service.” 667 Medals for Meritorious Service (MSM) have been given to the Police Department, 32 to the Fire Department, 27 to the Civil Defence & Home Guard Department, and 27 to the Correctional Department out of a total of 753 MSM.

The Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) is given for valuable service that demonstrates inventiveness and dedication to duty, and the President’s Medal for remarkable Service (PSM) is given for a particularly remarkable record in service.
