Haryana’s ‘most honest’ woman inspector caught accepting ₹5,000 bribe

A Haryana Police sub-inspector (SI) was caught taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a woman in Bhiwani today.

Sub-inspector Munni Devi was assigned to the district’s Bawani Khera police station.

The sub-inspector was an investigation officer in a case of recovery based on the woman’s complaint. She demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the woman, who filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau, which formed a team and set up a trap to catch the sub-inspector.

The sub-inspector was working as an investigation officer in a case of recovery based on the woman’s complaint. She allegedly demanded a bribe of $5,000 from the woman, who filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau. The ACB formed a team and set up a trap to apprehend the sub-inspector.

Since then, a video of a sub-inspector being caught red-handed has gone viral.

 

The National Crime Investigation Bureau, an NGO that works to educate citizens about their constitutional and legal rights, posted about the sub-arrest inspector’s on Twitter.

On January 2023, The District Education Officer in Nuh, Haryana, was caught red-handed accepting a bribe, according to state Vigilance Bureau officials on Tuesday.

They claimed that the officer accepted the bribe in exchange for facilitating the purchase order for the supply of school desks in favour of the complainant.

“The accused, Ramphal Dhankar, demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh in exchange for ensuring the purchase order for the supply of school desks in favour of the complainant.”
