The box office performance of Akshay Kumar’s Selfie has been poor. Even on its second day, the film’s ticket sales remained flat. According to estimates, it earned 3.25 crore on Saturday.
Selfiee earned just 3 crore on its first day in India, making it one of Akshay’s worst-performing films of all time. Notably, Akshay Kumar has repeatedly failed to cast his spell on the screens, with his films failing back to back.
On Friday, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film’s low Day 1 box office take. In the first half of Friday, the film earned a total of 1.3 crore. Further classification of the film’s earnings reveals that it earned approximately 24 lakhs in PVR, 43 lakhs in Inox, and 23 lakhs in Cinepolis.

Selfiee is an official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License, starring Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film is directed by Raj Mehta and stars Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Nushrat Bharuccha, and Diana Penty in lead roles. It is scheduled to be released in theatres on February 24, 2023.
As Selfiee failed to generate box office revenue, many questioned Akshay’s choices, as he had recently starred in back-to-back flops. In response, producer Ekta Kapoor came out in support of Akshay Kumar, writing a strong message praising Akshay and his professionalism.
