On the other hand, as a result of COVID-19-related travel restrictions, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) estimates that international tourist destinations faced a huge challenge, threatening 100 to 120 million direct tourism jobs. COVID-19 has had an impact on the entire tourism value chain, including airlines, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, food suppliers, farmers, retailers, and a variety of other small and medium-sized businesses.
Tourism was among the first industry sectors to be significantly affected by the pandemic, as measures to contain the virus resulted in a near-complete withdrawal of tourism activities worldwide.
However post-pandemic things have gone back to normal.
