A case has been registered against Himanta Biswa Sarma, Sadhguru, and Jayanta Malla Baruah under the Wild Life Protection Act 1972. The case was registered by prominent social activists Soneshwar Narah and Pradeep Pegu.
They filed the FIR at the Bokakhat Police Station on behalf of the people who live near the national park.According to the FIR, the Sadhguru and the chief minister’s Saturday night jeep safari violated the Wildlife Protection Act because no visitor is permitted to enter the national park after 4:30 p.m.
A three-day Chintan Shivir is being held in Kaziranga to propel Assam forward with well-planned innovative thoughts in terms of social, cultural, spiritual, and economic development.

Notably, India’s spiritual leader Sadhguru was presented in the ‘thinking camp’ on the first day of the Chintan Shivir, after which Sadhguru drove Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on a jeep safari in the Kaziranga National Park.
Soneswar Narah specifically stated in the FIR that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Spiritual leader Sadhguru, and Jayanta Malla Baruah violated the Wild Protection Act 1972. He requested that Himanta Biswa Sarma and Jayanta Malla Barua Sadhguru be arrested immediately.
On the other hand, noticeably this comes after unfurling the statue of the rhino, wherein Sadhguru went to visit the park in the interiors of Kaziranga National Park by driving a jeep on his own. Sadhguru sat in the driver’s seat, with Assam’s chief minister as a passenger.

On September 24, CM Sarma was presented at the inauguration ceremony of this Chintan Shivir at The Borgas Resort in Kahora, Kaziranga. On Saturday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev, popularly known as Sadhguru, formally reopened Kaziranga National Park in Assam for the upcoming season (September 24).
The three-day event is being attended by chief secretaries of several states including Assam namely Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Commissioners of Survey, Settlement, and Land Information Departments of Karnataka, besides heads in-charge of various departments of Assam and high-ranking officials.
It should be noted that on September 22, 2021, the government made history by igniting a stockpile of 2479 rhino horns in order to send a clear message to poachers and illegal horn traders that rhino horns have no medicinal value. The rhino statues erected in this manner are an attempt to immortalize the efforts and dedication of those who selflessly protect Assam’s pride, the great one-horned rhinoceros.
