Hyderabad: On Sunday, a four-year-old boy was mauled to death by street dogs in Hyderabad. The incident was captured on CCTV.

The victim’s father works as a watchman. The boy suffered stomach injuries and died before reaching the hospital.

The incident was captured on video, showing the boy walking down the street when three dogs attack and pin him down.

This is the latest in a string of dog attack incidents reported across states, including the death of a seven-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district on Saturday after being bitten by stray dogs.

Suraj Rai, Superintendent of Police (rural), said the boy, Kanha, was playing in his backyard in Bilaspur village when stray dogs attacked him. The stray dogs continued to bite Kanha, and by the time villagers arrived to save him, the boy was bleeding profusely, according to the boy’s family members.

In another January incident, a Swiggy delivery executive died from injuries sustained while jumping off the third floor of a building to escape a dog attack in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills neighbourhood. When the 23-year-old arrived at the location — Lumbini Rock Castle apartment on Road 6 in Banjara Hills — to deliver the order and knocked on the door, the customer’s pet dog allegedly chased him. In an attempt to avoid the dog attack, he jumped off the building, suffering severe head injuries. The customer then rushed him to Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science (NIMS).

A seven-month-old infant was mauled to death by a street dog at a housing society in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida in October of last year. The infant’s parents were working as labourers at the Lotus Boulevard Society in Sector 100 of Noida, where the incident occurred.
