Manipur: According to police, a medium-intensity IED exploded outside the home of former MLA Khwairakpam Loken Singh in Imphal West district, damaging the gate, a street lamp nearby, and a portion of the road.
Manipur Police and bomb experts arrived at the scene shortly after the explosion on Thursday evening in the Kwakeithel Takhellambam Leikai area and conducted an investigation.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
According to witnesses, the IED went off shortly after Singh was seen entering his home.
On the other hand, Singh, who ran unsuccessfully in the Sagolband assembly seat on a JD(U) ticket earlier this year, told reporters that he had no animosity with anyone and demanded an immediate investigation into the matter.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
