Shivamogga airport
The inauguration of the Shivamogga airport will provide another boost to India’s air connectivity. The opening of this airport will provide direct access to residents of the neighbouring Malnad region. The airport supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of improving air connectivity throughout the country. The newly constructed airport cost approximately Rs 450 crore. The airport’s Passenger Terminal Building can handle 7,200 passengers per day.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make his fifth visit to poll-bound Karnataka this year to inaugurate the Shivamogga airport and lay the groundwork for various development projects in Belagavi. The Prime Minister will walk through and inspect the Shivamogga airport. The program also includes the inauguration and laying of the foundation stone for several projects in the district.
Railway projects in Shivamogga
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the groundwork for two railway projects worth Rs 1,090 crore. The two projects are the new railway line Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennur and the Koteganguru railway coaching depot.
