Gulmarg: According to police, two Polish tourists were killed in a massive avalanche that hit the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir’s ski resort Gulmarg on Wednesday.
When the avalanche hit, there were skiers on the slopes, both foreigners and locals. According to police, at least 19 foreigners have been successfully rescued so far.
The bodies of the two Polish nationals have been recovered and transported to a hospital for medical and legal examinations.
Rescue operations are still underway in the tourist town of Baramulla, with police teams on the scene.
The number of those who have gone missing is unknown.
