With the Covid scare on the rise, the Delhi Government has issued an official declaration ordering government school teachers to be stationed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport to ensure people follow Covid-19 appropriate protocols.
Because government schools in Delhi will be closed from January 1 to January 15 for winter vacation, the order states that at least 85 teachers from various government schools in Delhi will be on duty from December 31 to January 15.
The order was issued on behalf of the District Disaster Management Authority by the District Magistrate (West).
Teachers of Delhi government schools will be deployed at Delhi airport from December 31 to January 15 to ensure that Covid appropriate behaviour is followed by passengers arriving from abroad.
Schools will remain closed in Delhi during this period due to winter vacations.

In light of the recent surge in Covid cases in some countries, Delhi authorities began physically visiting all government hospitals on Monday to assess their readiness to deal with any eventuality.
In response to an increase in Covid cases in several countries, the Delhi government approved a budget of 104 crores for hospitals to purchase generic medications as part of emergency plans on December 26. The Delhi government has also directed that all hospitals in the city increase their preparations and obtain supplies as the number of infections is expected to rise in the coming days.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia directed hospital administrators to assess their readiness for Covid and ensure that requirements meet Union Health Ministry guidelines.
“The Union Ministry of Health has been disseminating information about Covid prevention and management. I urge everyone to only access and share verified information, and I encourage others to do the same “Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated.
