Andhra Pradesh: During the Ram Navami celebrations at Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple in Duva village, Tanuku Mandal, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, a fire breaks out.

On March 30, a pandal and the exterior portion of Lord Venu Gopala Swamy temple’s Dwaja Sthambam (pillar) were gutted in a fire during Srirama Navami celebrations at Duvva village under Tanuku police in West Godavari district. The pandal was made of palm leaves.

The pandal caught fire after a firework fragment dropped on the temple during Lord Rama and Sita’s celestial wedding. “The firecracker came from beyond the temple grounds, where villagers lit it as part of the Srirama Navami celebrations in the hamlet,” said B. Srinivasa Rao, West Godavari District Fire Officer.
