Guwahati Honey Trapping Case: The Guwahati Police detained three people, including a woman, on Guwahati Honey Trapping on suspicion of honey-trapping a temple priest and blackmailing him with obscene WhatsApp videos.

The incident occurred in the Fatasil Ambari neighborhood of the city.

The arrested individuals were Pramod Tiwari, Rajni Kothari, and Bhavojit Sen. Rajni first persuaded the victim priest, Bhagirathi Shastri, to friend her on WhatsApp and begin video calls with her. After recording everything that happened, the woman began blackmailing the priest for money.

The honey trapping gang also threatened the priest that his photos and videos would go viral on social media platforms if he did not pay up.

Fearing for his reputation, the priest went to the Fatasil Police Station in the city and filed a FIR.

Notably, the gang blackmailed a priest with a Rs 5 lakh demand, and the woman also sent obscene videos to the priest, for which the gang began to blackmail him. The three suspects are currently being questioned at Fatasil Ambari police station.

Out of concern for his public image, the priest went to the city’s Fatasil Police Station to file a FIR.
The following day, on Friday, Pramod Tiwari and Rajni Kothari, both from the Fancy Bazar neighbourhood, were brought before the court.

The honey catching pack also threatened the cleric that if he didn’t settle, his photographs and recordings would circulate on the web through virtual entertainment stages.

Bhavojit Sen, the third accomplice, was arrested on Friday.
In the meantime, the court has placed each of the three respondents under the authority of the police for five days.
