SS Rajamouli has once again managed to stand among the loud cheering as he was honored with the Best Director award at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2022, after breaking several box office records and winning numerous prominent awards. Rajamouli thanked the jury and the audience for their support after accepting the award. “You have drawn a lot of attention to a small film from the south of India.” He also remembered seeing the reactions of the audience when his film was released. “It was pure joy of awe, like what we had just witnessed. “That’s how I want my audiences to feel,” he explained. The filmmaker also thanked his family for their unwavering support.

SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR will also attend the Golden Globes, which will be held on January 11 in Los Angeles. RRR is nominated for Best Foreign Film, but its song Naatu Naatu is nominated for Best Original Song. RRR will also be screened in the United States as part of the Beyond Fest on January 9. SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, and composer MM Keeravani will also be in attendance.
Following this, RRR has set his sights on the Oscars in 2023. The film’s song Naatu Naatu featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR has been shortlisted in the best song category. Even though RRR was not a part of India’s official entry for the Oscars but was separately submitted under the ‘For your consideration’ campaign for 14 categories.
