Assam: On Friday, cabinet ministers from the Assam government met at the Janata Bhawan in Guwahati for their weekly cabinet meeting, during which critical decisions were made.
A slew of choices has been made, including an increase in DA, the construction of a 1,000 MW solar power plant, and land settlement in favor of indigenous landless families.
The key decisions taken during the cabinet meeting are:
Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief to serving All India Service (AIS) officers of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre under the Government of Assam/AIS Pensioners/serving State Govt Employees/State Govt Pensioners/Family Pension Holders/Extraordinary Pension Holders to be increased from 38% to 42% with effect from January 1, 2023.
Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief has been revised in accordance with the Assam Services (ROP) Regulations, 2017.
The state government is injecting an additional Rs 79.57 crore each month for increased Dearness Allowances.

Land to Indigenous Families
760 indigenous families will benefit from land settlement. indigenous landless families live in diverse districts with the purpose of homesteading
Prospective settlement holders must pay the settlement premium as of the date of the SDLAC meeting proposing the settlement.
This would benefit indigenous landless households that have been waiting for land settlement for a long time, as well as improve administrative efficiency.

Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) would build a 1,000 MW solar power plant under the Mukhya Mantri Sauro Shakti Prokolpo on an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis at a cost of 4,000 crore.
In-principle clearance for State Counterpart Financing of 20%, i.e. Rs 800 crore, against the EAP project.
The MD of APDCL has been permitted to call bids and complete other procedural steps for the project’s implementation in the Karbi Anglong district.
