Guwahati: A woman allegedly murdered her husband and mother-in-law and stored their body parts in a refrigerator in Guwahati’s Noonmati neighborhood.
According to reports, the incident came to light only on February 19, seven months after the two were brutally murdered, following accused Bandana Kalita’s confession to the crime.
The accused Bandana also stated that after murdering her husband Amarjyoti Dey and mother-in-law Shankari Dey with the assistance of her partner and a friend, she cut her dead husband’s and mother-in-bodies law’s into multiple pieces and stored them in the refrigerator on August 17, 2022, and left the rented home where she was staying with her deceased husband in Noonmati, Guwahati.

Kalita also admitted that she returned to clean the house, took the body parts from the refrigerator, and disposed of them on August 21, 2022 in Dawki, Meghalaya.
Neighbors who were familiar with the situation were shocked to learn of the incident and confirmed that the accused Bandana Kalita came to clean the house last year and saw her burning the bed and other clothes on the terrace.
Bandana Kalita and her two partners in crime, Arup Deka and Dhanjit Deka, are now in the custody of the Noonmati Police Station in Guwahati.
Police are currently investigating the case and attempting to determine the motivation for the brutal murder.

According to preliminary reports, the murder occurred in Guwahati’s Noonmati neighbourhood and was brought to light on Sunday. The accused woman’s extramarital relationship with another man is thought to have resulted in the murder.
According to reports, after committing the murder, the accused cut the bodies of the two victims and stuffed the parts inside a refrigerator. The bodies were dumped in Meghalaya three days after the murder.
Bondona Kalita, the main accused in the case, committed the murder with her lover and another friend. They conspired to assassinate her husband Amarjyoti Dey and mother-in-law Shankari Dey.
