Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, who shared details of the Cabinet decisions on Twitter, stated that the proposed amendment will provide tailored incentives for the implementation of mega projects, with an initial investment of Rs 100 crore and 200 permanent jobs, with all non-skilled/grade 3 and 4 employees coming from within the state.

The Cabinet also approved a Rs 150 crore Power Purchase Subsidy to Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) to ease the burden on consumers.
