The Crime Investigation Range of the Forest department in Assam’s Biswanath district seized a ‘303 rifle and one ‘303 pistol while tied in sacks in a warehouse named Shri Shyam Bhandar inside the state bus stand inside the State Bus Station of Biswanath Chariali.
Meanwhile, Two illegal weapon suppliers were arrested in the raid.
The forest department has received information about the duo smuggling illegal weapons as well as supplying illegal weapons to poachers in the past. The forest official said there is every possibility of getting more information about the entire incident in due course of time.
It is to note that natural resources are being depleted as a consequence of poaching. Animals are both a source of natural beauty and valuable ecological resources. Poaching persists to decrease these valuable natural resources, making it difficult to breed these animals, especially if their species is declining due to poaching.
