All Assam Students’ Union banned in Cotton: The removal of the AASU unit of Cotton University was due to organizational differences with the central leadership.
Cotton University student group president Pranjal Sonowal has announced that no AASU-sponsored programmes will be held in Cotton this year.
“At the moment, Cotton does not have an AASU unit,” the Cotton University student group decided.
According to reports, this decision was made due to organisational conflicts with the top authority.
It should be noted that the Cotton University student unit is only involved in community service.

The AASU Central Committee has also accused Cotton University of long-term deprivation.
“From AASU’s central leadership, cotton does not receive the status it deserves,” it continued.
Cotton University’s All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) members threatened to resign from the organisation on Monday.

They threatened to resign from the body due to disagreements with the central leadership, according to sources.
“We didn’t receive due respect or importance from the body, so we decided to resign as a whole,” one of the members said. We would also like to state that we do not intend to join any other political party at this time.”
He also stated that if they resign, their positions as President and General Secretary of Cotton University’s Students Union will not be affected.
