Amid rising complaints against APDCL has released an official Whatsapp number. Recently many users have taken to social media to complain about rising unusual electricity bills. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma blamed the situation on “faulty readings in some newly-installed smart meters” on Friday.
“There has been no increase in power tariffs, but consumers have complained about unreasonable bill amounts due to faulty readings in some of the newly installed smart meters. I have instructed to fix the faulty smart meters and address public grievances as soon as possible,” the chief minister said clarifying the matter.
On Tuesday, APDCL released an official number for public grievances. If you are facing an abnormally high electricity bill then you call toll-free number 1912 or you can also Whatsapp the details to the number 7575999666.
