Comedian Raju Srivastava dies in Delhi at the age of 58. The comedian was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on August 10 after experiencing chest pain. Raju Srivastava suffered a heart attack on August 10 and was admitted to the hospital after complaining of chest pain while running on a treadmill at the gym.

Raju Srivastava was on a life support system at AIIMS, Delhi. The comedian regained consciousness after 15 days on ventilator support.

Popularly known by his stage name ‘Gajodhar’, Raju was born on December 25, 1963, in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur in a middle-class family. He rose to fame after appearing in the stand-up comedy talent hunt show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’, with its first season premiering in the year 2005. Raju also participated in the spin-off, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Champions, in which he won the title of “The King of Comedy”.

He made appearances in Hindi films such as “Maine Pyar Kiya,” “Baazigar,” “Bombay to Goa” (remake), and “Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya.” He was a contestant on season three of “Bigg Boss.” He presided over the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council.
He also participated in the comedy show Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala. In 2013, Raju along with his wife participated in Nach Baliye season 6 on StarPlus. He has also appeared on Comedy Nights with Kapil.
