5G: While telecom operators have yet to confirm prices, Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal recently told that Airtel’s 5G prices in India will be nearly the same as 4G plans.

PM Narendra Modi on Saturday launched 5G services in India. In addition, PM Modi introduced 5G services in India, The prime minister emphasized the potential for 5G technology to transform lifestyles and urged business executives to raise public awareness of its potential.

On the other hand, The “New digital Universe” topic will be the focus of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022, which runs from October 1 through October 4. It will bring together top academics, businesspeople, inventors, and representatives of the government to examine and highlight the unusual prospects brought about by the quick uptake and dissemination of digital technology.

Meanwhile, As telecom companies prepare for the rollout, everyone is wondering if data plans will become more expensive. Or will Indians pay the same price for 5G on existing plans, but recharge more frequently because 5G consumes data more quickly?

On the other hand ,5G promises 100 times faster data speeds than 4G and throughput (the number of units of information a system can handle in a given amount of time) of up to 10 gigabytes per second. It also promises to reduce latency (the time it takes for data to be transferred) to less than 1 millisecond (ms) from the current 50ms (in a 4G network).

5G data plans will undoubtedly be more expensive than 4G data plans (at least during the time of the launch). In countries such as the United States, service providers charge an additional $10 (roughly 10% more than existing 4G plans) for 5G services. As a result, we can expect the same in India.

However, 5G services will be aimed more at Enterprises (such as Industries and Factories undergoing service digitization) and usecases such as Internet of Things (IOT) and Virtual Reality. This would allow service providers to charge an additional fee for 5G services.

Expected Price of Jio 5G:

We can expect Jio 5G to start at around Rs 400-500 per month. Jio may be able to keep prices low even for 5G bands with higher frequencies.

Which smartphones are capable?

To support a 5G network, a phone must have a 5G compatible processor. You can tell if your phone has a 5G processor by going to Settings/About phone and looking at the CPU under the Hardware section. The following chips are required for your phone to support 5G networks.
