NEUFC: NorthEast United FC will host Hyderabad FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday, following a close loss in Bengaluru in Matchweek 1 of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). The defending champions enter the game after a 3-3 draw with Mumbai City FC in Matchweek 1.
In their first game of the season, Hyderabad FC were held to a 3-3 tie by Mumbai City FC.
The match will be historic for NorthEast United FC and their supporters because it will be their 50th league game at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium. NorthEast United FC will face a difficult task in defeating Hyderabad on this occasion, as they have failed to do so in the previous five meetings.

The Highlanders were highly susceptible in the final quarter of the previous Hero ISL season, which is a concern that has carried over into this season following Bengaluru FC’s 87th-minute winner in the previous game. NorthEast United FC has conceded 12 goals in the final quarter of games since the start of last season, more than any other team in the ISL.

Hyderabad FC, like NorthEast United, felt the consequences of capitulating a late goal. Despite this, they were able to walk away with a point. With Halicharan Narzary and Mohammed Yasir on the flanks, Hyderabad FC will pose a threat. The pair even worked well together to score one of the goals against Mumbai City FC. Joao Victor, the captain, played the entire 90 minutes and scored a crucial brace.
