Megha Kayak Festival: Meghalaya is gearing up to host the four-day mega global adventure sports spectacle “MEGHA KAYAK FESTIVAL 2022” beginning October 13 at the scenic Umtrew River in Umtham Village. The 2022 edition of the “MEGHA KAYAK FESTIVAL,” which promises to be the largest Kayaking event on the Indian subcontinent, will feature over 100 participants from close to 20 countries around the world, including some of the best-known athletes from this Olympic sport.
The festival would feature white water kayaking competitions in three categories: Downriver Time Trial, Extreme Slalom, and Downriver Freestyle for both professionals and intermediate and amateur racers.
Meghalaya Tourism organised the event, which is in line with Honourable Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s vision of showcasing mesmerising Meghalaya to the world. The festival will be an excellent opportunity to establish the state as one of the world’s premier white-water sports destinations. Meghalaya’s clean, rapid rivers make it a whitewater rafting and kayaking paradise.
With the deadline for submitting entries set for October 13, kayak aficionados from all over India and the world still have a chance to sign up and participate in this global whitewater adventurer sports event. The website contains all event information, including contact information.
