Manchester City and Liverpool battled it out a 2-2 draw at Etihad

Must Read

Manchester City have maintained their advantage in the Premier League title race with an entertaining draw over rivals Liverpool today in a hotly-anticipated clash of two incredible teams.

City came into the game  leading one point at the top of the premier league table.

Jurgen Klopp’s side came from behind twice to prevent City from running away in the Premier League  title race. Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring with a deflected strike to give City an early 1-0 lead inside the opening five minutes. Liverpool then levelled through Diogo Jota after a beautiful cutback from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gabriel Jesus soon regained City’s lead with a neat lofted attempt over Alisson. It was a stunning ball from Cancelo to pick him out on the far right. Less than 50 seconds into the second half, Mohamed Salah teed up Sadio Mane for Liverpool to equalise and make it 2-2. Kyle Walker was caught sleeping at the back post and the away side made them pay.

Both sides pushed for a winner late in the second half which provided great entertainment for the neutral but neither side budged. For Pep Guardiola’s side, they remain one point ahead of Liverpool in the league table.
