FIFA World Cup 2022 Final: Lionel Messi wins the Golden Ball Award; Kylian Mbappe wins the Golden Boot Award; Emi Martinez wins the Golden Glove Award; Enzo Fernandez wins the Young Player Award.
Lionel Messi became the first player in men’s Fifa World Cup history to win the Golden Ball (best player of the tournament) twice after leading Argentina to victory in the final on Sunday.
Emiliano Martinez of Argentina was named the tournament’s top goalkeeper after maintaining three clean sheets and assisting Argentina in penalty shootouts against the Netherlands and France.
Kylian Mbappe won the Golden Boot in the race to be the highest scorer at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Lionel Messi led the way with five goals in six games played up to the final, followed by Kylian Mbappe with the same number of goals. However, a brilliant hattrick by the Frenchman sent him to the top of the table with a total of 8 goals.

Mbappé, 23, is the first Frenchman to win the Golden Boot, while Just Fontaine set a World Cup record with 13 goals in 1958, before the award was instituted. At the 2018 World Cup, Antoine Griezmann finished second in goals scored.
Mbappe is also only the sixth player in World Cup history to score in multiple finals, and the second to score in back-to-back finals.
