Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben, who turned 100 in June, was admitted to hospital on Wednesday, according to news agency PTI. According to reports, she was taken to the UN Mehta hospital in Ahmedabad.
The prime minister visited his mother earlier this month, just before the second and final phase of the Gujarat assembly election. Heeraben had also voted in the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections.

Heeraben Modi, who was born on June 18, 1923, turned 100 this year. PM Modi, who met her on her 100th birthday, wrote a letter expressing his joy and gratitude for the occasion. “I have no doubt that my parents are responsible for everything good in my life and in my character. “As I sit here in Delhi today, I am filled with memories from the past,” PM Modi said.

In June, the Prime Minister paid her a visit on her 99th birthday. The Prime Minister had also written an emotional blog titled ‘Mother’ to commemorate her centennial entry.
The Prime Minister’s brother Prahlad Modi and other family members were injured in a car accident in Mysuru, Karnataka, shortly before Heeraben Modi’s hospitalisation.
