Khalistani Threaten Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: On April 2, the Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh announced that central agencies in the country had been notified about a threat issued by a pro-khalistani organization to state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He also stated that Sarma’s security has been appropriately prepared in light of the rising threat.

“In light of recent world developments, Assam Police is taking the danger extremely seriously. The federal agencies have been kept informed of the situation,” the Assam DGP tweeted.

Singh further stated that a case has been filed at the Assam STF Police Station under relevant provisions of the IPC and the UAP Act.

Sikh for Justice (SFJ), a US-based separatist Sikh organisation, issued a threat to Himanta Biswa Sarma on April 2 for the imprisonment of six aides of Sikh separatist leader Amritpal Singh in Dibrugarh jail.

Some Assam journalists got a recorded phone call in which the Assam CM was warned for allegedly torturing pro-Khalistani sympathisers imprisoned in Dibrugarh.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, is said to have received a threat in the shape of an audio recording from the banned Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice. Assam Police is investigating the video, and all districts have been notified. The speaker in the alleged audio clip claimed to be Gurpatwan Singh Pannun of Sikh for Justice. He said that the Assam government is harassing Amritpal Singh’s aides in Assam jail.

The pro-Khalistan group said in the audio message that Amritpal Singh’s six aides are being tortured at the Dibrugarh jail in Assam.

Assam Cabinet Members Pujish Hazarika and Ashok Singhal stated on April 2 that Khalistani terrorists cannot hurt the state Chief Minister.

“Someone will threaten us and believe we will not be scared. Come to Assam and tell them all. Why is he in America threatening our Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma? Pijush Hazarika told the reporters about the situation.

In addition to Pijush, Ashok Singhal responded, saying that people need not be concerned because Khalistani cannot harm Assam Chief Minister.

“Assamese people should not be terrified. Khalistani terrorists cannot harm Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma,” he stated.
