Prateek Hajela, the former state coordinator of National Register of Citizens(NRC), did not show up in court despite being summoned by the additional district and sessions judge today.

Earlier, the Guwahati court instructed Hajela to attend the hearing on November 17 regarding the NRC financial irregularities case.

Since Prateek Hajela did not appear, the Court has ordered to notify Prateek Hajela through advertisements in two widely read newspapers in Madhya Pradesh and Assam, and also in addition to two national newspapers.

According to the reports, the summon was based on a criminal revision petition (36/2023), filed by filmmaker and businessman Luit Kumar Barman. Barman Files Criminal Revision Petition against Hajela for alleged Rs 260 Crore Corruption in updating the NRC in Assam.

The court then directed Hajela to appear before Court on November 17, 2023, to file objections if any.

In addition to Hajela, the court summoned WIPRO LIMITED, with its Managing Director at Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road, P. S. Bellandur, Bangalore, and INTEGRATED SYSTEM AND SERVICES (ISS), represented by its Proprietor Utpal Hazarika.

While WIPRO LIMITED, with its Managing Director at Doddakannelli, Sarjapur Road, P. S. Bellandur, Bangalore, presented its affidavit to the court on Friday, INTEGRATED SYSTEM AND SERVICES (ISS), represented by its Proprietor Utpal Hazarika, chose not to attend the court proceedings.
