Today, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticised the opposition leader and TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee for imitating the Rajya Sabha Chairman during a demonstration on the Parliament grounds.
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee imitated Vice President Dhankhar in the presence of numerous MPs protesting outside Parliament against the widespread suspension of Opposition leaders, while Rahul Gandhi recorded the entire performance.
CM Sarma posted on X, “What a shameful situation! The karta dharta of the country’s oldest political party, once at the helm for decades, have stooped to such low levels”.
What a shameful situation! The karta dharta of the country’s oldest political party, once at the helm for decades, have stooped to such low levels. It’s a live example of how frustration can bring out the worst in someone. 👇

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi unexpectedly recorded the entire mimicry act.
Expressing his contempt, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar criticised the mocking of him by suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee during a demonstration on Parliament grounds, deeming it “ridiculous” and “unacceptable.”
At the protest at Parliament’s Makar Dwar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was reportedly observed using his smartphone to record Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee, who, along with other suspended MPs, was seen mimicking the Vice President.
As the House resumed its session at noon following an adjournment,“The Office of Chairman, Rajya Sabha and Office of Speaker are very different. Political parties will have their cross currents, and they will have exchanges, but imagine a senior leader of your party, video graphing another member of another party. Mimicry of the Chairman, mimicry of Speaker. How ridiculous, how shameful, how unacceptable.”
