On Tuesday night in Lucknow’s Dubagga neighborhood, a 19-year-old girl Nidhi died after falling from the fourth floor of an apartment under mysterious circumstances.

While the police claimed that Nidhi Gupta, a beautician by profession, fell after an argument with her alleged lover Sufiyan (19), the girl’s family claimed that the youth harassed her and pushed her from the fourth floor of the apartment when she went to report his misconduct to his family.

The girl was taken to the KGMU trauma center, where doctors declared her dead.

According to reports, Nidhi’s mother Lakshmi Gupta stated in the First Information Report (number 231/2022) filed in the death that a neighbor named Sufiyan, son of Mohammed Raju, used to follow her daughter.

After converting to Islam, he would put pressure on her to marry him. When she complained to Sufiyan’s parents about it, he threw Nidhi from the fourth floor of a building. Nidhi, 19, died before arriving at the hospital.

Sufiyan was charged with murder under IPC section 302 and sections 3 and 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 2021, based on the complaint.

In the most recent New Delhi case, a man named Aaftab Ameen murdered Shraddha Walkar a month after she left her family in Maharashtra to live with him in Delhi.

According to Shraddha’s father’s written complaint to the Delhi police, he disapproved of her relationship with Aaftab because he was Muslim and she was Hindu.

On Wednesday, the Saket Court approved a narco test for Aftab Ameen Poonawalla, who brutally murdered his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar. The development comes after the Delhi Police approached the court earlier in the morning, requesting permission for the test and claiming that he was not cooperating with the investigation.
