Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, BJP MLA from Jabera in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, made the controversial statement when he compared the roads of his area with the cheeks of senior Lok Sabha MP of his own party and famous actress of her time Hema Malini.

With the assembly elections nearing in Madhya Pradesh, MLA Dharmendra Singh Lodhi is on a tour in his constituency as part of Vikas Yatra.

During the tour of a village, Lodhi questioned people about the condition of the roads in their area. The BJP MLA then said that Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given approval for the construction of roads and now the roads will become as smooth as Hema Malini’s cheeks.

Meanwhile, Lodhi went on further and said that Hema Malini has now become old and asked people to name a new heroine. This prompted people to name actor Katrina Kaif, but then Lodhi said that Katrina has also become old and asked them to name a new heroine.

The video has gone viral on social media, drawing flak from opposition Congress.

In 2005, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, then the Railway Minister in Dr.Manmohan singh-led UPA govt, had also made headline when he claimed that he will make Bihar road  as smooth as Hema Malini cheeks.
