After edging out competitors from 63 nations, Sargam Koushal was named Mrs. World 2022, returning the title to India for the first time in 21 years.
At a ceremony held on Saturday night at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino, Mrs. World 2021 Shaylyn Ford of the US handed Koushal, who is from Mumbai, the crown.
The second runner-up was Mrs. Canada, who was chosen after Mrs. Polynesia as the first runner-up.

Ms. Koushal, who was born in Jammu and Kashmir, now resides in Mumbai. She triumphed over competitors from 63 different nations to claim the title.
When Mrs. World 2021, Shaylyn Ford of the US, gave her the crown in a ceremony in Las Vegas, images of her sobbing were captured.

On Sunday, the Mrs. India pageant posted the winner’s announcement to its official Instagram page.
“The long wait is over; the CROWN is back after 21 years!” read the article.
“After 21–22 years, the crown is back with us. I’m overjoyed. I love you, India, and I love you, “Following the ceremony, the newly crowned Mrs. World, who is from Jammu and Kashmir, made a video statement.
Who is Sargam Koushal? The new Mrs World from India
Ms. Koushal has a postgraduate degree in English literature, based on her Instagram posts. She previously held a teaching position in Vizag. She has also mentioned that her husband is a Navy officer.
On the Mrs World pageant’s unverified page, Aditi Govitrikar, the actor-model who brought the Mrs India crown to India in 2001, also posted a message of congratulations.
She was named Mrs. India World this year in June. Out of 51 contestants nationwide, she was chosen.
The first married women’s beauty pageant, Mrs. World, debuted in 1984.
