On Wednesday, Bollywood lost one of its legendary actors. At 82, Vikram Gokhale passed away while receiving medical care in a hospital in Pune. The seasoned actor spent more than 15 days in the hospital and was in critical condition.
On Saturday afternoon, veteran actor and thespian Vikram Gokhale died at the age of 77 in Pune. “We regret to inform you that noted actor Mr Vikram Gokhale died today at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital of multi-organ failure. Please accept our heartfelt condolences “read the official statement from the hospital The actor had been in the hospital for a while and was on life support. Vikram Gokhale’s body will be kept at the Bal Gandharva Sabagruha so that family and friends can pay their respects. On Saturday, the actor’s final rites will be held at the Vaikunth Crematorium in Pune at 6 p.m.
As Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s father in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,” he gave a powerful performance (1999). Bollywood blockbusters including “Hey Ram,” “Tum Bin,” “Bhool Bhulaiya,” “Hichki,” and “Mission Mangal,” to mention a few, also starred Vikram Gokhale. In addition to Shilpa Shetty, Shirley Setia, and Abhimanyu Dassani, his most recent Bollywood movie was “Nikamma” (2022).

He is survived by his wife, Vrushali Gokhle, and two daughters.

Vikram Gokhale came from an acting family. His father Chandrakant Gokhale was a Marathi cinema and stage actor, while his grandmother was an actress.
In 1971, Vikram Gokhale made his film debut in Amitabh Bachchan’s Parwana. He won the National Award for Best Actor in 2010 for his performance in the Marathi film Anumati. He also made his directorial debut with the Marathi film Aaghaat.
