Nayanjyoti Saikia, an Assamese cook, is self-taught at the age of 26. Chef Vikas Khanna discovered him on Instagram. While his father was hesitant to allow him to pursue his passion for cooking, the Michelin-starred chef found a way to persuade him. Nayanjyoti had his own journey on MasterChef, performing exceptionally well in some challenges while finishing last in others.
