Sooryavansham: A man bored with the repeat telecast of ‘Sooryavansham’ writes a hilarious letter to Sony Max.

According to ANI, an anonymous man reportedly wrote a hilarious letter to a private television channel after becoming frustrated by the endless reruns of Amitabh Bachchan’s hit 1999 family drama, Sooryavansham.

For the uninitiated, certain TV channels have been airing Sooryavansham every Sunday for years, causing audience overload. After being pushed to the brink, one such man decided to take matters into his own hands and write to the channel.

Viral Bhayani, a popular paparazzi page, shared a photo of the letter. According to the letter, the man and his family know everything there is to know about Heera Thakur and his family. He wanted to ask the channel a few questions under the RTI act. The man inquired as to how many times the channel has aired this film to date, how many times it will be aired in the future, and who is to blame if it affects his mental state.

Netizens found the letter amusing and said they could relate to the man’s emotions. Meanwhile, a user stated that ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ is also shown on Zee Cinema every Sunday.

‘Sooryavansham,’ a 1999 film starring Amitabh Bachchan in a dual role as Bhanupratap Singh and his son Heera Thakur, was released in 1999. Heera has a strained relationship with his father due to his illiteracy, despite his determination to fulfil his father’s dream.

The now-viral letter translates as, “Because of your channel, my family and I now know Heera Thakur (Amitabh Bachchan’s character in the film) and his family as well as our own. We know all of the dialogues by heart. I’m curious how many more times you (the channel) will show this film. How many times are they going to show this movie again? Who will be held accountable if such repeated viewings of the same film have a negative impact on my mental health and sanity? I respectfully request that you resolve my complaint as soon as possible.”

The film also stars Soundarya, Rachna Banerjee, Anupam Kher, Mukesh Rishi and Kader Khan. Directed by EVV Satyanarayana, the film is considered a cult classic.
