Ekta Kapoor, a renowned Indian producer and filmmaker, was honored with the International Emmy Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmys in New York on Monday.
She achieved the milestone of being the first Indian female filmmaker honored with the International Emmy Directorate Award.
This honour recognizes individuals or entities for their exceptional contributions to global television. The founder of Balaji Telefilms became emotional while she received the award during the ceremony in New York.
During her acceptance speech, she conveyed thanks to her mother, reminiscing about their joint venture in launching Balaji Telefilms from her father Jeetendra’s garage.
Additionally, she dedicated the award to India, stating, “This accolade is for you, India, and all the Indians present – we may be few, but we are sufficient”.
