The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal which is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga was released on Friday set the box office on fire. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has clocked the biggest opening day to date for an A-rated feature film, that too in a clash scenario with a run-time of 3 hours and 21 minutes. The gangster drama starring Ranbir Kapoor is also the second biggest opener of all time after the Shah Rukh Khan-led Jawan, which clocked Rs 126 crore on the first day.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has minted Rs 61 crore nett (early estimates) in India. According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the film’s global gross collection on its opening day is around Rs 110-115 crore. Bala also tweeted that the film had managed to make $2.5 million in North America on opening day.

This year, the biggest opener so far has Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, which made Rs 75 crore across India on its opening day. So far, the second spot was held by Pathaan, which made Rs 57 crore on its first day but now, Animal has taken up that spot. Tiger 3 is next in line as it collected Rs 44.50 crore on its first day.
Animal has released alongside Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur which has only managed to bring in Rs 5.5 crore nett in India.
The films stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandana and Tripti dimri in the lead.
