Amitabh Bachchan, 80, revealed in a blog post on Sunday night that he suffered a muscle tear in his right rib cage and popped his rib cartilage while filming an action sequence for the science fiction film Project K in Hyderabad.
The veteran actor was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment before being flown back to Mumbai, where he is currently recovering.
“In Hyderabad at shoot for Project K, during an action shot, got injured, rib cartilage popped broke & muscle tear to the right rib cage. Cancelled shoot, did doctor consult & scan by CT at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad & flown back home,” posts Amitabh Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan, the actor, suffered a muscle tear in his right rib cage while filming Project K in Hyderabad. In a blog post, the 80-year-old actor revealed that his rib cartilage “popped” on set while filming an action shot, injuring him. He was treated in Hyderabad and is now recovering at Jalsa, his Mumbai home. Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he is “mobile a bit for essential activities” but otherwise resting.

“In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I have got injured .. rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage.. canceled shoot.. did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home .. strapping has been done and rest been advocated,” Bachchan wrote on Tumblr.
As of now, the legendary actor has suspended and cancelled “all work that was to be done,” as well as dropped and postponed it. He also apologised in advance to his fans for not being able to meet everyone who gathered at the Jalsa Gate on Sunday evening as part of his weekly routine.
“It will be difficult, if not impossible, for me to meet the well-wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening. So please do not come, and please inform those who intend to come as much as possible. Everything else is fine, “Big B’s post came to an end.
Project K, which stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, is set to be released next year.
