Assam: The English board exam in one of Cachar district’s centres has been cancelled by the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA). Ranoj Pegu, the state’s Minister of Education, made the announcement on his official Twitter account.

The Assam Board of Secondary Education has cancelled the English paper of the Assam HSLC Exam 2023. The Assam HSLC Exam 2023 Cancelled for English paper was held in the state on March 3, 2023.

According to a SEBA notice, the English paper exam for Class 10 scheduled for March 3, 2023 has been cancelled after the Board received a report from the district authorities that some candidates from Higher Secondary School, Ganir Gram Kendra had used dishonest methods to sit for the exam.

In this regard, the Board has urged candidates, examination officers, inspectors, and parents to work together to ensure that the examinations are conducted smoothly in the coming days without violating the examination rules and regulations.

According to the notice, SEBA Assam has received verbal complaints from other exam centres, and reports have been requested from the relevant district authorities. The Board has warned that if this report is received, strict action will be taken against any examination centre or candidate who receives objectionable reports during the remaining days of the examination.

Soon after the question paper leak case was reported, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma summoned Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) secretary Naranyaran Nath and requested that the exam be cancelled in all centres where irregularities had been reported. SEBA officials, however, did not respond to the incident.
