In a social media post on Tuesday, Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma disclosed that there had been attempts by unknown individuals to breach his Facebook account.
CM Sarma conveyed the situation via ‘X’ and voiced his concerns regarding the possible participation of hackers operating out of Pakistan.
He further stated, “Unknown hackers made an attempt to hack my Facebook account this evening. Preliminary information suggests the hacker might be operating from Pakistan. Investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators.”

The Chief Minister immediately informed the public of the attempted hacking and gave the assurance that an inquiry had been started to find the criminals behind the cyberattack. It is not known what the attempt’s possible goal could be. They’ll report any new information as it becomes available.
The relevant authorities are taking the necessary action in response to this security incident and are actively trying to put together the information.
Sarma had earlier on Monday drawn attention to a fake video that featured clips of his speech impediment. He said that an illicit attempt was being made to suppress his expression by using a false video as he shared it on his X platform.
The chief minister of Assam also voiced concern about criminal groups spreading false information.
See for yourself, as elections approach, how vested groups distort a speech with the criminal intention of spreading disinformation and communal disharmony.
