Members of the Trinamool Congress (TMC)  led by the party’s state president Ripun Bora staged a massive protest on Thursday in front of Radisson Blu hotel in Guwahati as the Maharashtra political crisis continues to grow.

Bora and other protesting TMC members have been detained by the police.

Speaking to the media person Bora said, “we won’t tolerate horse-trading here in Assam. The people of Assam has been suffering from the flood and the Chief Minister of the state is giving five star hospitality to this MLA. He further stated that the Chief Minister should resign”.

As the Shiv Sena rebel camp stay put in Guwahati continues to swell, 4 more MLAs arrived at the Radisson Blu hotel here in Guwahati just a short while back. Besides, 3 more MLAs arrived at the hotel earlier this morning, the numbers in the Shinde camp have risen to more than 50.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray left his official residence ‘Varsha’ last evening and moved back to ‘Matoshree’ his family home.Thackeray had offered to step down even as he made a last-ditch effort to reach out to rebel party leader Eknath Shinde.

Ahead of his possible resignation, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray started making ‘final calls’ after his emotional challenge to the rebels the previous evening that he was ready to quit the post (CM) as well as Shiv Sena.
