On Monday, a significant fire broke out at Nilpur Tea Estate near the Biswanath Chariali Sadar police station.
The fire at Nilpur Tea Estate in Biswanath Chariali caused substantial damage to the tea garden. Reportedly, the fire broke out suddenly in the midst of the garden at morning 10.30 am.
The cause of the fire outbreak remains unknown at this time. However, the head of the Biswanath Chariali Fire Station suggested to the media that it could potentially be linked to the burning of waste near the tea garden, though certainty cannot be confirmed yet.
Three fire tenders were dispatched to the location to extinguish the fire.The firefighting efforts aim to contain the blaze and minimise further losses to the estate. The tea garden, a vital source of employment, now faces uncertainties as efforts to extinguish the flames continue.
