Saraswati Puja 2023: A popular Hindu festival is Saraswati Puja, also known as Basant Panchami. It is observed on the first day of spring, which is also the fifth day (Panchami) of the Hindu month of Magha. Hindus honor Goddess Saraswati on this day.

Puja is also celebrated on a grand scale by educational institutions in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. A variety of cultural activities, such as music and dance performances, are planned. Basant Panchami is a Hindu festival that commemorates the harvest and the arrival of Spring.

Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music, arts, science, and technology, is honoured on Vasant Panchami. On Vasant Panchami, the Goddess Saraswati is worshipped. Shri Panchami and Saraswati Panchami are other names for Vasant Panchami.

 

Purvahna Kala, or the time between sunrise and midday, is thought to determine Vasant Panchami day. Vasant Panchami is observed on the day of Panchami Tithi during Purvahna Kala. As a result, Vasant Panchami may also fall on Chaturthi Tithi.

या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृता।
या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना॥

This year, Basant Panchami will be observed on Thursday, January 26. The Panchami Tithi will begin at 12:34 PM on January 25 and end at 10:28 AM on January 26. Vasant Panchami occurs between the hours of 07:12 AM and 12:34 PM.

Saraswati puja 2023: Prasad

People prepare delectable prasad, or offerings to God, on Basant Panchami. Khichdi or Bengali-style Khichuri, which is served during Saraswati Puja, is one of the traditional dishes of this occasion. There is also Kheer, Zarda or Kseer pulao, Malpua, and Boondi Ke Laddoo.
