Pijush Hazarika alleges that Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi is aiming for the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency.
On the social media platform, the state cabinet minister asserted that in each election, the Congress has consistently revealed its nature through its conduct.
Hazarika stated, “Out of Assam’s 14 Lok Sabha seats, the Congress is preoccupied with a particular constituency, and there is a rivalry between Pradyut Bardoloi and Gaurav Gogoi for the Nagaon constituency.”
Hazarika further declared that following the constituency’s limitation, Nagaon now comprises areas such as Batdwara, Rupahi, Samaguri, and Laharighat, known for having a significant number of voters with suspected Bangladeshi origins.
Pijush Hazarika stated that although the former Kaliabar constituency, now Kaziranga, has six remaining constituencies, Gaurav Gogoi is actively involved in Nagaon. Hazarika stated, “The Congress relies on votes from individuals with suspected Bangladeshi origins for any chance of winning”.
Hazarika asserted that Gaurav Gogoi values the potential voters in Batdwara, Rupahi, Samaguri, and Laharighat—suspected to be of Bangladeshi origin—more than the native voters in Kaliabor, Bokakhat, Golaghat, Sarupathar, and Khumtai.
