The Nagaon administration demolished residence of five family allegedly involved in setting fire to Batadraba police station. The eviction drive has started since this morning following the violence on Saturday. The administration evicted several houses in Shalnibadi.
On the other hand, the eviction drive was carried out in Haidubi after Shalnibari. The administration evicted two houses each.
It may be recalled that an angry mob ransacked and set fire to the Batadraba Police Station in Nagaon district of Assam on Saturday, May 20, over the alleged custodial death of a local man.Three persons involved in the attack on the police station have so far been arrested, while two policemen were injured in the incidenta. Police have also so far arrested 21 persons including women in connection with the incident.
