According to report, boxer Lovlina filed the divorce petition against her husband Nabanit Goswami in Kamrup Metro family court, and it seemed to have spread like a wildfire.
Meanwhile, a boxer on Saturday night took to her official Facebook page to share about the news that is doing round in the media.
“Yes i was in a relationship. It was in 2018 during Commonwealth Games, when we came to know each other over the phone. We spoke to each other for nearly 15 to 20 days. Since i stay outside of Assam and meet different people around the world, he felt little insecure about it. I too felt that there shouldn’t be an issue , so we decided to file an agreement , but we didn’t go to any magistrate to register our marriage. As we both stay outside Assam we decided to sign this agreement for security purpose. But we also decided that until our families accept our relationship, we won’t stay together like a husband and wife. In the last four year, i have been at the home for just two or three days, he came to meet me at my home during that time, but there wasn’t any relation of husband and wife between us. We were in a relationship that’s all. We didn’t let our families know about this because of my game and his sister wedding was also pending at that time, but my family member knew him very well and love him alot. In the last three years , we were more into our own profession, thus we couldn’t give each other the space required in a relationship. I was under pressure ahead of Tokyo Olympic, moreover my mother had undergone kidney operation during the COVID pandemic, and i was under complete stress at that time. There were difference in our thought, we fought over the phone and finally, we stopped talking to each other three to four month prior to Olympics. We both moved on in the last one and half years, and we are no more in a relation. Later we both decided to mutually come to a solution to sort out the agreement that we signed, but due to some media and people from the court our relationship status has come to the fore. Now it is creating a huge problem for both of us and our families. I want to focus on my game , thus i beg everyone not to press the issue more and create trouble for our families. I know i made a mistake but, but i didn’t commit any crime” Lovlina said in 6.42 minute video.
