Authorities discovered an illegal trade of wildlife body parts in the district of Dhubri, Assam.
In a major action against the illegal trade in wildlife body parts for use as traditional medicines, the Forest Department and the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau(WCCB) collaborated in Dhubri to take control of an illegal roadside vendor shop.
A temporary shop, that was carrying out the activity, located close to the Dhubri District Magistrate office, was the target of an organised attempt on Thursday, led by Mehtab Uddin Ahmed, a member of WCCB, and staff members of the Dhubri District Forest Department.
Law enforcement took into custody numerous animal body parts as a result of the raid.
Authorities seized forty-three Pangolin scales, four-inch segments of leopard skin, monitor lizard skin, and rhesus macaque skin in Dhubri. They also found twenty-five sticks of eagle feathers, a bundle of sea fans, a barking deer forehead with a single horn, and a piece of deer skin in the inventory.
