Fake Land documents printing racket caught in Guwahati

In a major achievement, the Assam Police have effectively dismantled an illegal operation involved in printing fake land documents in Kharghuli area, Guwahati.

In a major achievement, the Assam Police have effectively dismantled an illegal operation involved in printing fake land documents in Kharghuli area, Guwahati.

In the course of the operation, a variety of items including register books, thumb impression logs, fake official stamps, laptops, land records, and stamp papers were discovered.

These are the items that were being used to create fake historical land records.

The Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, posted this on the social media X (formerly Twitter).

CM Sarma said, “A huge racket involving the production of counterfeit land documents has been uncovered by the @GuwahatiPol today”. 

“After questioning an employee from the Sub-Registrar office in Guwahati and an advocate, the police obtained crucial information and conducted a raid at a location in Kharghuli. During the raid, various items such as volume registers, thumb impression books, fake official stamps, laptops, land records, and stamp papers were discovered. These items were being used to create fraudulent historical land records”, he added.

Further investigation is going on.
